Ottex provides AI-powered voice input, dictation, transcription, meeting recording, and related productivity workflows. The services may include local models, cloud models, user-provided API keys, Ottex Provider access, account features, billing features, team features, documentation, and related tools.

3. User Accounts

Some features require an account. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Providing accurate and complete information
  • Promptly updating your account information

4. User Content

You keep ownership of the content you provide, create, record, transcribe, process, or store through Ottex. This may include audio, transcripts, prompts, generated text, custom dictionaries, snippets, settings, and related materials. You grant us the limited rights needed to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the services.

5. Recording, Consent, and Lawful Use

You are responsible for using Ottex lawfully. This includes obtaining any required consent before recording, transcribing, or processing meetings, calls, conversations, or other audio, and ensuring that your use of the services complies with applicable laws, workplace rules, and third-party obligations.

6. AI Providers and Third-Party Services

Ottex may process content locally, through your own API keys, through Ottex Provider, or through third-party AI providers and services, depending on your configuration and the features you use. Third-party services may have their own terms, privacy practices, limits, pricing, and availability. You are responsible for the API keys, accounts, and providers you choose to connect.

7. Pricing, Subscriptions, Credits, and Payment

Ottex may offer free features, pay-as-you-go credits, subscriptions, trials, team plans, enterprise plans, and other paid or unpaid offerings. The specific prices, renewal terms, credit terms, cancellation options, limits, taxes, and refund rules are shown in the app, on the website, at checkout, or in the applicable order terms. By purchasing a paid offering, you authorize the applicable charges and agree to the terms presented at purchase.

8. Data and Privacy

Your use of Ottex is also governed by our Privacy Policy. The way content is processed may vary depending on whether you use local models, your own provider keys, Ottex Provider, or other connected services.

9. Intellectual Property

The Ottex software, website, documentation, designs, trademarks, and related materials are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the services as intended and subject to these terms.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Ottex to:

  • Violate applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights
  • Record or process audio without required permission
  • Submit or generate unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or abusive content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, accounts, models, or data
  • Interfere with, overload, reverse engineer, or disrupt the services
  • Bypass usage limits, billing controls, security controls, or technical restrictions

11. Availability and Changes

We may change, suspend, limit, or discontinue parts of the services from time to time, including models, providers, features, pricing, or availability. We try to provide reliable services, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently available access.

12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Ottex provides AI-assisted tools, and outputs such as transcripts, summaries, rewrites, commands, or other generated content may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for a particular purpose. You are responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on them. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ottex will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or similar damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business opportunities.

13. Termination

You may stop using Ottex at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the services if we believe you violated these terms, created risk for us or others, failed to pay amounts due, or used the services in a way that may harm users, providers, systems, or our business.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as by posting the updated terms, updating the date above, or sending an in-app or email notice. Continued use of the services after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

15. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction identified by Ottex for the applicable service or transaction, without regard to conflict of law rules. If no jurisdiction is identified, the governing law will be determined by the location of the Ottex entity providing the service.
